    Description

    Estrela is member of the perennially popular SCOD / South Coast One design wooden racing/cruising yachts designed by Charles Nicholson in 1955. A total of 106 were then built by a number of boatyards up until 1970. Estrela is an early example of 1956 and built by Burnes Boatyard of Bosham and now resides on the Isle of Wight where she has been well maintained by the current owner.
    SCOD's are known to be quick and seaworthy small boats with an enthusiastic following and active class association. Amongst their many organised races the SCODs compete at the Cowes Classics Week for the Phoenix Challenge Trophy, the trophy itself being a scale model in silver of the type and presented by the designer and Charles Blake in 1957.
    Steadily upgraded over the years Estrela is ready to race and/or cruise with her new owner, but whatever you decide to do her 1950's charm is bound to rub off.
